The Dream Project Seeks Performers Feb 5-Mar 25

Seeking players for The Dream Project, a collaboration between North American artists, whose objective is to devise and create a new version of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Through original dance and music; Spanish, French, and English text; aerial choreography; and multimedia design, The Dream Project strives to be an innovative and experimental piece that encompasses various art forms. This project is an opportunity to create a cohesive voice and story, while building political, cultural, and multilingual bridges.

Seeking Shakespeare company players:
Males and females, 21–40, any ethnicity

Actors must have the following three things: extensive movement and dance training, Shakespeare training, residence in North America.

And must have one or more of the following six skills: aerial training, acrobatic training, any other circus skills, speak French or Spanish, play an instrument (specify), experienced singer.
Auditions by appointment only at Shetler Studios, 244 W. 54th Street, New York, NY 
Monday, February 5, 2018, 6–9pm
Tuesday, February 6, 2018, 3–8pm

March 6–23, 2018 (approximately 30 hours/week; daytime rehearsals ending no later than 6pm, Mondays off)

March 23 & 24, 7pm
March 25, 2pm
Rehearses at both Shetler Studios and GK Art Center; performances at GK Art Center, Brooklyn, NY
To be considered for an audition slot, email with your head shot and resume. Tell casting personnel a bit about yourself and why you are interested in being a part of this project. Specify where in North America you are from. Please list which skills listed you possess (i.e., aerial silks, flute, etc.) and how many years experience in each.

If selected to audition please prepare a Shakespeare monologue of your choosing. It may be comedic or dramatic, no longer than 2.5 minutes in length.
How Much:
Equity showcase code, pending approval. Stipend TBD.
