Circus Coaches Wanted July 2-27
Posted April 15, 2018
Future Stars Camp seeks circus coaches for the summer of 2018.

The skills our campers learn include:
Ground: tumbling, human pyramids, clowning
Balance: stilts, rola bola, tight wire, unicycle
Props: juggling scarves, balls, rings, feather balance, spinning plates, diabolo, flower sticks, poi, hula hoop
Aerial: trapeze, hammock, fabric

Coaches who can coach multiple skills are highly preferred. Do you coach something that is not on this list? Talk to us about it. We love to offer new skills to our campers!

As this is a specialty camp, we are with the same campers all day, from drop off to pickup, including bringing them to lunch (which is provided) and to the pool. Other than those two things in the middle of the day, our campers are working on their circus skills all day.

Camp runs in two-week sessions. The first week is dedicated to learning new skills, and the second week we build a show to be performed for family members and campers at the other specialty camps. Performances are held on the Thursdays (July 12 and 26). The following Fridays are fun days where campers get to try new and silly things, reflect on the show, and try a favorite skill one last time. New this season, we will be taking the campers on circus field trips those days.

Future Stars is housed on the campus of SUNY Old Westbury, mainly in the athletics center. There is potentially an option to carpool from the city.
