The Intellectual Idiot FREE Nov 17
Posted October 29, 2017
Back from touring as a member of the world-famous Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown Alley in the circus' final farewell tour, Matthew Lish is returning to Hofstra University with his brand new one-man show, Matthew Lish's The Intellectual Idiot.

Dr. Lauren Kozol and Circus Bicuspid, in association with Hofstra University Honors College, are proud to present Matthew Lish's The Intellectual Idiot. Join Phineas as he explores the intellectual side of the circus through dangerous juggling stunts, head scratching off-beat weird magic, stories from the road, and all around general stupidity.

In The Intellectual Idiot, audiences will see gags Phineas performed in The Greatest Show on Earth in arenas around the country for sold out crowds of 20,000 people. Phineas will attempt to juggle six dozen eggs, dance ballet with trash bags, and even break the "golden rule" of magic, revealing the secret behind one of his favorite tricks. In Schrödinger’s Rabbit, audiences will learn why thanks to theoretical particle physics, it is easier to put a rabbit into a top hat than to pull one out. Throw in some explanations of the upper and lower intestine with an overextended metaphor, a Pogo stick, frogs, a machine the shoots popcorn, original music, galoshes, a card trick, a loaf of sliced bread, and Phineas' classic green glasses, and you've got yourself an evening that can only be described as intellectually idiotic.

The Intellectual Idiot features a book by and stars award-winning clown and world-record-holding juggler, Matthew Lish, with magic effects by Bruce Lish.
